My first guitar

Well my first 12 fret dred anyway, and my first guitar of Brazilian rosewood.

This guitar has an Adirondack top, Maple bindings, brazilian f-board and bridge. Every piece of the guitar was hand fabricated by me,ummm except for the bridge pins and tuners that is.
I have the pick guard on order.

I will be bringing this guitar down to the A.S.I.A. symposium, so please stop by my table and check it out.

Beautiful Matt - It looks you went to the "Way back Machine" for that one! She has Vintage written all over it. WEll, hows it sound!

it sounds and plays awesome...my best effort yet, i think.

Yupp, vintage all the way... I didnt even bind the finger board, I almost beat it with a chain for authentisity!

Great work Matt,
I am beginning to really appreciate the simplicity of pegheads like you did on this one. They are just elegant and functional looking and seem to not be hiding anything under a mound of purfling and inlay. Nice! And that joint on the butt end, executed in maple looks flawless.

Brian,   Yupp, colonial tonewoods through out except for the top, which was one that I got from Tj a couple years ago. The dark patch`s on the back actually have a green colored streak running through it. unfortunatly my camera just dosent pick it up.

John, Thanks on the peg head. I love slotted peg heads, but from a players stand point I find these much easier to work with. I like the looks of the Laravee guitars very much, I noticed they rarely bind their peg heads. On mine, my headplate veneer is only .060" so i really dont have the depth for binding anyway.

The tuners are Waverlys W/ iviroid buttons. I love them. The word "Positive" really is a great way to discribe them.

Great job Matt! Your work looks flawless, and the choice of curly maple binding really sets it off.

Are you planning to install an end pin? I ask because I didn't on a couple of mine and it's the first thing everyone asked about.

That is one of my favorite body shapes, which gets me in trouble w/ the president of LINT, but what would a classical maker know about shapes anyway?

By the way--no id on the peghead. Who made that thing?
